The Mecalac Access is unrivalled in terms of versatility. It has no tail swing so is 100% operational in narrow configuration. The Mecalac is well known for its manoeuvrability which has made it an industry favourite and this machine, uniquely designed to operate in the railway environment, provides both access to elevated structures for the purposes of repair, maintenance and construction and with the basket removed can perform lifting and digging operations. The Mecalac Access has huge flexibility and is every bit as powerful as the standard road railer.

The 2m platform has a capacity of 225kg and can lift two people and their tools safely to a working height of 6.6m with an outreach of 7.5m whilst being able to traverse forward and backwards with full control of the machine being utilised by the operator from the console in the basket.

The Mecalac access road / rail advantages include:

  • Pin tow couplings front and rear- for pulling or pushing of rail trailers, the Mecalac access machine can pull or push trailers of up to 20t

  • Emergency recovery draw bar mounted across the rear - the Mecalac access machine can be utilized as a recovery vehicle

  • Operation of  platform basket and Mecalac access machine controlled from the man cage

  • Platform Basket 2 man (225)kg - No need for use of outriggers - working height of 6.6 metres with an outreach of 7.5m whilst being able to traverse forward and backwards with full control of the machine being utilised by the operator from the console in the basket, with the ballast of the Mecalac Access Machine taken up in the weight of the machine and the light weight boom configuration

  • Underbody lighting system - these are a series of underbody led lights that can light up around the whole of the vehicle, this can be utilized for hazard reduction (slips, trips and falls) as well as site inspection once the job has been completed

  • Catalytic Converter - This exhaust system acts to convert the exhaust fumes of the vehicle into a non hazardous by product (Ideal for tunnel work)

  • Towing capacity of goods on site up to 6t
